What is a European Style Pheasant Shoot?

Our European pheasant shoots are one of a kind!  We use the same style of shoot that the Kings of Europe used, and still use today.  Now you can enjoy European style shooting without paying the outrageous prices currently charged in England and Spain.

Our shooting course is very challenging, but extremely exciting.  Hosting 15 different shooting stations, which surrounds a hilltop release 40-60 ft. above all the stations. Each station hosts 2 shooters (30 total shooters), which rotate 15 times throughout the shoot, giving each shooter a chance at every challenging station.  The course is located in tall timber, in the beautiful Beaver Creek Valley.  Our European Style Pheasant Shoots are very similar to shooting sporting clays, only we use live targets.  Each shooting station has wheel chair accessibility.

Pheasants are released from the hilltop which is located 150-350 ft. from all the shooting stations.  They are flying at speeds of over 50 MPH by the time they reach your shooting stations.  Plan on shooting 4-8 boxes of shells per shooter.  4, 5 or 6 shot shells are recommended.   No 3 inch or heavy shot shells are allowed.  This is for  safety reasons.  Dog handlers are located behind the shooting stations for retrieving the downed birds.

Bring a friend or spouse to watch this event.  Spectators are welcome to stand directly behind your station and follow you throughout the course. They may watch from our safety zone area or choose to sit around the open campfire until the shoot is finished.  Finish the day by the open campfire swapping stories with other sportsman with a cold beverage of choice in hand.  This is a “fantastic outdoor experience” at an affordable price.  Eye protection and an orange vest or cap are required for everyone on the course.  Everyone on the course must sign a liability waiver.  Shooters must have a valid Kansas Hunting License, or Kansas Controlled Shooting area license ($17.00 annual), which must be purchased before arrival at the shoot.  Purchase on-line @ www.kdwp.state.ks.us
